Why Choose Classical?

Think of classical music as the "secret sauce" for learning to play the piano. You don’t have to aim for a career on a big stage to get a lot out of it! By starting with the basics of classical training, you’re essentially building a sturdy foundation. It’s where we learn how to move our fingers comfortably, how to read music like a second language, and how to make the piano really "sing." Whether you eventually want to play top-40 hits, movie themes, or jazz, the skills you pick up in classical lessons make everything else you want to play so much easier to learn.

At my studio in Rollinsford, I love showing students that classical music isn't just about old songs—it’s about discovering what you can do. These lessons are a great way to build focus and confidence in a way that feels rewarding, not stressful. We take things one step at a time, finding pieces that actually interest you and help you grow. My goal is to make sure that when you sit down at the keys, you feel capable and excited to play. It’s not just about getting the notes right; it’s about enjoying the process of making music your own.
